Why Autoplot exists

Most scientific plotting software is a generation behind the rest of macOS. Python notebooks work, but they cost an afternoon every time you switch from analysis to writing.

The bet

Scientists who plot their own data should not have to choose between a notebook, a Windows-shaped legacy tool, a clinical-form interface, or a cloud AI workspace.

Autoplot is built on a simpler bet: a native Mac workstation can understand the scientific workflow - variables, workspaces, cards, fits, residuals, exports - and use an assistant to accelerate the work without owning the data.

Built from the workflow inward

The app starts with tabular data and follows it through parsing, variables, cards, specialized plot surfaces, Compose boards, project files, and export. That is a narrower promise than general data science. It is also the promise that matters when the figure has to survive review.

Who is behind it

Autoplot is developed in Barcelona by Kaya, in collaboration with scientists across Europe and North America. The scientific design comes from people who have had to fit, revise, export, and defend their own figures. Co-founder naming is pending institutional permission.
