Terms of Service
Last updated: May 20, 2026. These terms cover the Autoplot website, macOS app, hosted assistant, accounts, and subscription features.
The short version
Autoplot is a native Mac workspace for scientific plotting and exploratory analysis. Use it with your own judgment. You are responsible for the data you import, the analyses you run, and the results you publish or rely on.
Autoplot is operated by the Autoplot team. Formal legal entity details will be added here when entity formation is complete.
Using Autoplot
- Use Autoplot only if you can legally use the data, files, prompts, and other material you bring into it.
- Do not use Autoplot to break the law, infringe someone else's rights, bypass account or credit limits, disrupt the hosted service, reverse engineer protected parts of the service, or attempt to access systems or data that are not yours.
- You keep ownership of your data, project files, exported figures, and generated outputs. We do not claim ownership of your scientific work.
- You are responsible for checking outputs before using them in papers, reports, regulatory filings, clinical work, safety-critical decisions, or any other context where being wrong has real consequences.
Local data and the hosted assistant
The local toolkit is designed to work on your Mac. Your raw data files and project contents are your responsibility and remain local unless you choose to move or share them.
If you use the hosted assistant, Autoplot may send your natural-language request, account state, and dataset schema metadata needed to answer the request. The assistant is not a laboratory authority. Generated suggestions, scripts, fits, transformations, and explanations can be incomplete or wrong.
Accounts, subscriptions, and availability
Some features may require an account, an internet connection, a subscription, or usage credits. Payment details are handled by our subscription provider, not stored directly by Autoplot.
Prices, credit limits, included features, and availability may change as Autoplot moves through launch. We will try to give reasonable notice for material changes that affect paid accounts.
We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the app or hosted service. We may also restrict access if an account is abusing the service, creating risk for other users, or violating these terms.
No warranty
Autoplot is provided as-is and as-available. We do not promise that the app, website, assistant, analyses, exports, or hosted services will be uninterrupted, error-free, scientifically correct, or fit for a particular purpose.
You should keep your own backups of important data and project files. Autoplot is an analysis tool, not a source of truth for preserving your only copy of a dataset.
Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Autoplot is not liable for lost data, lost profits, publication errors, research conclusions, business interruption, indirect damages, or consequences that come from relying on generated analyses without checking them.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid Autoplot in the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 50 if you have not paid us. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product, legal entity, subscription model, and hosted assistant mature. We will update the last-updated date above and, for material changes affecting account holders, try to notify you by email.
