Terms of Service

Last updated: June 29, 2026. These terms cover the Autoplot website, macOS app, hosted assistant, accounts, and subscription features. The short version below is a plain-language summary; the full terms underneath it are what actually apply.

The short version

  • Autoplot is a native Mac workspace for scientific plotting and analysis. Use it with your own judgment — you are responsible for the data you import, the analyses you run, and the results you publish or rely on.
  • Your data files and projects stay on your Mac unless you choose to move or share them. If you use the hosted assistant, it only receives what it needs to answer your request.
  • You keep ownership of your work. We do not claim your data, figures, or generated outputs.
  • Autoplot is provided as-is, with no warranty, and the hosted assistant can be wrong. Always check outputs before relying on them.
  • These terms are governed by Swedish law. Our liability is limited, and nothing here takes away rights you have that the law does not let us waive.

The full terms

The summary above is only a guide. The sections below are the binding agreement between you and Autoplot.

Who these terms are between

These terms are an agreement between you and the team operating Autoplot. Autoplot is currently operated from Sweden while the formal legal entity is being established. Entity details will be added here once formation is complete.

By creating an account, downloading or using the app, or using the website or hosted assistant, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Autoplot. You must be at least 18, or old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live with a parent or guardian's consent.

Acceptable use

  • Use Autoplot only if you can legally use the data, files, prompts, and other material you bring into it.
  • Do not use Autoplot to break the law, infringe someone else's rights, bypass account or credit limits, disrupt the hosted service, reverse engineer protected parts of the service, or attempt to access systems or data that are not yours.

Your data and your responsibility

You keep ownership of your data, project files, exported figures, and generated outputs. We do not claim ownership of your scientific work.

You are solely responsible for making sure you have the rights to the data, files, and prompts you use with Autoplot, and for how you use the results. You are also responsible for checking outputs before using them in papers, reports, regulatory filings, clinical work, safety-critical decisions, or any other context where being wrong has real consequences. If your use of Autoplot breaks the law or someone else's rights, that is your responsibility rather than ours.

Local data and the hosted assistant

The local toolkit is designed to work on your Mac. Your raw data files and project contents are your responsibility and remain local unless you choose to move or share them.

If you use the hosted assistant, Autoplot may send your natural-language request, account state, and the dataset schema metadata needed to answer the request. The assistant is not a laboratory authority. Generated suggestions, scripts, fits, transformations, and explanations can be incomplete or wrong.

Accounts and availability

Some features may require an account, an internet connection, a subscription, or usage credits. We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the app or hosted service. We may also restrict access if an account is abusing the service, creating risk for other users, or violating these terms.

Prices, credit limits, included features, and availability may change as Autoplot moves through launch. We will try to give reasonable notice for material changes that affect paid accounts.

Subscriptions, renewals, and refunds

Paid plans are sold and billed through our subscription and payment providers, currently RevenueCat and the app store or payment processor you purchase through. Purchases, auto-renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled by those providers under their own terms, and your store or provider account is where you manage or cancel a subscription.

Autoplot does not store your full payment-card or bank details. If a charge looks wrong, contact us and we will help, but refunds ultimately follow the policy of the provider that processed your payment.

No warranty

Autoplot is provided as-is and as-available. We do not promise that the app, website, assistant, analyses, exports, or hosted services will be uninterrupted, error-free, scientifically correct, or fit for a particular purpose. This applies to Autoplot, the people who build and operate it, and the third-party providers it depends on.

You should keep your own backups of important data and project files. Autoplot is an analysis tool, not a source of truth for preserving your only copy of a dataset.

Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Autoplot, the people who operate it, and the providers it relies on are not liable for lost data, lost profits, publication errors, research conclusions, business interruption, indirect damages, or consequences that come from relying on generated analyses without checking them.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid Autoplot in the 12 months before the claim, or EUR 50 if you have not paid us. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, and if you use Autoplot as a consumer, it does not take away the protections of the mandatory consumer law where you live.

Feedback

If you send us feedback, feature requests, or suggestions, including through the public roadmap, you allow us to use them to improve Autoplot with no obligation, restriction, or payment to you. You do not have to send feedback, and you should not send anything confidential as feedback.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that we cannot resolve informally will be handled by the courts of Sweden. If you use Autoplot as a consumer, you keep the protections and any right to bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live where mandatory law provides for that.

If part of these terms does not hold

If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest stay in effect. The affected part will be limited or removed only as far as needed, and the intent of the remaining terms will be kept.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product, legal entity, subscription model, and hosted assistant mature. We will update the last-updated date above and, for material changes affecting account holders, try to notify you by email.
